Heath Askew has been teaching and coaching since 1998. Heath is the husband, Jane, for 16 years, who the assistant in the children ministry of Tabernacle Church in Ennis. They have 3 amazing boys Chance (15 years old), Addy (10 years old), and Camden (7 years old). Coach Askew will teach 7thgrade Math / 8th grade technology and coach middle school football and baseball at the high school. Previously at Venus Middle School where he taught 7th-grade math while coaching middle school football, basketball, track, and high school football and baseball. After his playing career, he became the Head Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Coffeyville Community College.
He received his Associates of Arts from Connors State College. Coach Askew finished his degree at Oklahoma State University. He has a degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Mathematics. He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas High School Baseball Association.
Coach Askew played football, basketball, and baseball in high school. He accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Connors State College after graduating high school. After playing 2 years at Connors State and going 13-1 with 6 saves there he accepted a scholarship at Oklahoma State University. He was able to play in the last year of the Big Eight Conference and the first year of the Big 12. His team won the last Big Eight Championship as well as making the 1996 College World Series. Heath was drafted in the 1994 MLB draft by the Florida Marlins.
Coach Askew believes that his calling is to make a positive impact through relationships and modeling on the kids he meets through teaching and coaching.
